Liverpool have formally registered their interest in Hoffenheim winger Bazoumana Toure, according to TEAMtalk sources, placing them ahead of Manchester United in the race for the 20-year-old Ivorian. The Merseyside club have notified Hoffenheim of their intent to pursue the player, who joined the Bundesliga side from Hammarby in winter 2025.
Toure enjoyed a breakthrough season with Hoffenheim, scoring five goals and providing 12 assists in 30 Bundesliga appearances. His pace, dribbling ability, and creative playmaking have attracted attention from several Premier League clubs, with Liverpool identifying him as a potential long-term solution on the wing. Hoffenheim missed out on Champions League qualification this season, potentially increasing Toure’s desire for a move.
Manchester United are also actively pursuing Toure, viewing him as a dynamic addition to their forward line. However, Liverpool’s proactive approach has given them a lead in negotiations. Aston Villa and Newcastle United are also described as ‘very interested’ and are monitoring the situation closely, alongside Brighton and Brentford, creating a competitive market for the player.
Hoffenheim are preparing for significant bids and have set an asking price in the region of €40-50 million (up to £43.1m / $57.9m) for Toure. A sale at that price would represent a club-record fee for Hoffenheim. Toure’s current contract with the German club runs until 2029 and does not include a release clause, giving Hoffenheim a strong negotiating position.
Previous speculation has linked Toure with Bayern Munich and Arsenal, though neither club has yet made a formal move. At 20 years old, Toure is considered to have the potential to excel at the highest level. His development will be closely watched, as he weighs options for continued growth either in the Bundesliga or with a move to the Premier League. The competition for his signature suggests he is highly regarded within European football.
