FC Nantes have completed the signing of forward Killian Corredor from German second-tier side Darmstadt 98, the club announced on Tuesday. The 25-year-old Frenchman has signed a contract with Nantes that runs until 2030, becoming the fourth summer arrival for the Ligue 2 outfit. Despite interest from fellow French club Saint-Étienne, Corredor opted to join Nantes following their recent relegation from Ligue 1.
Corredor joins Nantes after two seasons with Darmstadt, where he made 65 appearances across all competitions. Prior to his time in Germany, the attacker played for Rodez, establishing himself as a consistent goalscorer in Ligue 2. Throughout his career, Corredor has scored 20 goals in 89 second-division matches in France, demonstrating a proven track record at that level.
The decision to sign Corredor reflects Nantes’ ambition to strengthen their attacking options ahead of their Ligue 2 campaign. The club finished 17th in Ligue 1 last season and subsequently lost in the relegation play-off, meaning they will compete in the second tier for the 2024-25 season. Corredor’s experience in Ligue 2 is expected to be a valuable asset as Nantes aim for an immediate return to the top flight.
Nantes have assigned Corredor the number 12 shirt, a tribute to his upbringing in the Aveyron department of France. The club confirmed this gesture highlights Corredor’s regional roots and personal connection to the number. The signing of Corredor adds further depth to Nantes’ forward line, alongside other recent acquisitions as the club rebuilds its squad for the challenges of Ligue 2. This move provides Corredor with the opportunity to continue his development and contribute to a team with clear promotion aspirations.
