Darwin Nunez has agreed with Al-Hilal to leave the Saudi Pro League club this summer, according to Referi. The Uruguay international has not featured for Al-Hilal since being removed from the squad in February to accommodate Karim Benzema’s registration, and is now seeking a return to European football.
Nunez joined Al-Hilal from Liverpool last summer in a deal worth up to £63 million, but his stint in Saudi Arabia has been short-lived and unsuccessful. Prior to his move to Al-Hilal, the forward had spent one season at Anfield, scoring 10 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions following his arrival from Benfica.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have held discussions with the representative of Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon, as reported by Si Philipps. The England international is considered likely to be available this summer, and the Blues are among several clubs expressing interest. Bayern Munich have also reportedly submitted a five-year contract offer to Gordon, but will only pursue the transfer if Newcastle reduce their asking price.
Manchester United are also actively planning for the summer transfer window, with a focus on strengthening their left-back options. According to Sky Sports, the club has identified three primary targets: Lewis Hall of Newcastle, Nathaniel Brown of Eintracht Frankfurt, and Myles Lewis-Skelly of Arsenal. This search comes after converting Patrick Dorgu into a winger, leaving Luke Shaw as the sole senior left-back at Old Trafford, and with Tyrell Malacia expected to depart on a free transfer.
Further reports indicate that Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has been offered to Barcelona by his representatives, as stated by Sacha Tavolieri. The French centre-back has struggled with injuries since joining Chelsea and his camp are exploring potential destinations. Barcelona have added Fofana to a list of defensive targets, though Alessandro Bastoni of Inter Milan remains their priority. Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu is also attracting Premier League interest, with Aston Villa, Liverpool and Manchester United all monitoring the situation, CaughtOffside reports.
