AS Roma have submitted an initial bid for Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho, according to reports from Italy. The 22-year-old is widely expected to depart Stamford Bridge after a single season with the club, and Roma have emerged as strong contenders for his signature.
Chelsea and Garnacho have reportedly agreed to pursue a permanent transfer this summer, and the player has yet to join the Blues’ pre-season training at Cobham as he assesses his options. Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso recently acknowledged the interest from Roma and other clubs, stating he hopes for a resolution that benefits all parties involved.
The offer from Roma, as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, is a €5 million loan deal with an option to buy for €35 million next summer. This clause could become an obligation depending on the fulfillment of certain undisclosed conditions. Chelsea, however, are believed to prefer a permanent sale and are not currently considering loan offers for Garnacho.
Despite a somewhat underwhelming first season at Chelsea, the club is holding firm on a €50 million valuation for the Argentinian winger. His Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €49.6 million, a decrease from a peak of €70.9 million in September 2024, but still a significant figure given his age and the six years remaining on his contract. This suggests Chelsea may be willing to wait for a more substantial offer from Roma or other potential suitors.
Garnacho joined Chelsea with considerable expectations, but struggled to consistently impact the first team. A move to Roma would offer him the opportunity to feature more regularly in Serie A and potentially reignite his career. The transfer window remains open, and further developments are anticipated as negotiations progress between the two clubs.
