Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain, according to FootMercato. The 18-year-old Senegal international winger is reportedly seeking a departure from the French capital in search of more consistent playing time.
Mbaye has been with PSG since 2018, winning Ligue 1 and the Champions League twice each. He recently made history at the 2026 World Cup, becoming the youngest African goalscorer in the tournament’s history with a goal against France. His performances have reportedly ‘impressed’ Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi, who is looking to bolster his attacking options following six major signings this summer, including midfielders Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes.
However, Tottenham face competition from Aston Villa, who are described as being ‘most receptive to Mbaye’s qualities’ by FootMercato. Villa, fresh off a Europa League victory and with Champions League football on the horizon, are seen as strong contenders for his signature. Mbaye himself feels he has outgrown a supporting role at PSG, particularly with the club bringing in several new attacking players.
FootMercato reports that Mbaye is under contract with PSG until June 2028, but is actively considering a move. He has made 42 appearances for the PSG first team, scoring four goals and providing four assists. While a fee has not been disclosed, his recent performances and rising profile suggest a significant transfer fee would be required to secure his services. Tottenham have also been linked with AC Milan’s Rafael Leao and Manchester City’s Savinho in their search for a winger this summer.
