Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz is currently enjoying a period of rest in Germany following his participation in the World Cup with Turkey, but his future with the club is clouded by a persistent knee injury. The 20-year-old’s World Cup performance was reportedly hampered by a tendinopathy of the patella, and the issue continues to cause him discomfort.
Upon returning from the United States, Yildiz continued with pre-planned treatments as part of his recovery process, and these will continue upon his return to Turin around July 20th. Juventus medical staff will then assess the severity of the pain and determine whether he will need to manage the issue throughout the season, or if a more drastic solution is required.
According to reports in TuttoSport, surgery has not been ruled out as a potential option to resolve the problem, though it is not currently considered a concrete plan. The final decision will likely rest with Yildiz and his representatives, weighing the benefits of a long-term fix against the potential recovery time. The club are aware that asking a young player to play through chronic pain is not ideal.
Despite speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid, fuelled by interest from Jose Mourinho, Juventus currently have no intention of selling Yildiz. Florentino Perez reportedly enquired about the player during Juventus’ recent match against Madrid, but no formal offer has been made. The club view Yildiz as a key component of their future plans, and his recent contract renewal reflects this.
However, the extent of his knee problem could influence the club’s approach to the upcoming season. If the pain persists, Juventus may be forced to manage his workload carefully, potentially delaying his full integration into the starting lineup. A successful resolution to his knee issue is crucial for both Yildiz’s individual development and Juventus’ ambitions for the season ahead.
