Inter are nearing a deal to sign Oumar Solet from Udinese, according to reports from Italy. The Nerazzurri have offered 17 million euros plus bonuses for the French centre-back, with Udinese currently seeking 25 million euros, though a deal is expected to be reached at 20 million euros plus bonuses.
Inter are actively restructuring their squad ahead of next season, with several players set to depart when their contracts expire, including Francesco Acerbi, Matteo Darmian, and Yann Sommer. Discussions are ongoing with Stefan de Vrij regarding a potential contract extension under reduced financial terms. Reinforcements are prioritized in both the goalkeeping and defensive positions.
Solet has already reportedly agreed to personal terms with Inter. The club is also pursuing Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel, with an agreement in principle already reached on a two-year contract worth 1.5 million euros per season plus an option for a further year. However, a transfer fee with Lazio remains a sticking point, with Inter hoping to pay no more than 3 million euros, while Lazio are holding out for 5 million euros.
Alongside the pursuit of Solet and Provedel, Inter are also monitoring other potential targets. They are interested in Curtis Jones and Marco Palestra for midfield and right-back respectively, but are currently focused on strengthening the defense. Matteo Ruggeri of Atletico Madrid has been identified as a possible alternative should Carlos Augusto depart, and 18-year-old Borussia Dortmund centre-back Luca Reggiani is also under consideration. Alessandro Bastoni, despite previous speculation, is expected to sign a contract extension with Inter, potentially bringing his wages in line with those of Nicolò Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu.
The potential arrival of Solet would provide much-needed depth in central defense, while Provedel would serve as a reliable backup to goalkeeper Pepo Martinez. Securing these signings would address key areas of concern for Inter as they prepare for another Serie A title challenge.
