Tottenham Hotspur are making significant progress on multiple transfer targets, most notably advancing in club-to-club talks with Manchester City for Brazilian winger Savinho. The 22-year-old is reportedly open to joining Spurs, having been a previous target for the club last summer when two offers were made.
This time, Manchester City have approved Savinho’s sale, and the asking price has reportedly fallen from the £70-80 million range demanded last year to around £60 million, according to the Daily Mail. Savinho did not feature regularly for Manchester City last season, potentially contributing to the reduced fee.
Alongside the pursuit of Savinho, Tottenham are also nearing the completion of a deal for Netherlands international Jan Paul van Hecke. Personal terms with the 26-year-old centre-back have been agreed, with a third bid of around £60 million believed to have been accepted by Brighton & Hove Albion, as verified by Ben Jacobs and Fraser Fletcher. Van Hecke has only one year remaining on his current contract at Brighton.
Spurs are also attempting to renegotiate the terms of Joao Palhinha’s potential permanent transfer from Bayern Munich. While the club wants to bring the Portuguese midfielder back following a loan spell, they are reluctant to meet the previously agreed option to buy of €30 million (£26 million). Palhinha is reportedly prioritizing a move to Tottenham despite interest from Sporting CP.
The club has already confirmed the free signings of Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi, bolstering the defensive options. Speculation continues to surround the future of Cristian Romero, with Manchester United now linked with a potential move for the Argentinian centre-back. These additions signal a significant overhaul of the Tottenham squad as Ange Postecoglou prepares for the upcoming season. The arrival of Savinho would provide further attacking impetus, while Van Hecke would add depth and quality to the central defence.
